Senior SAP PM Consultant (Life Sciences Transformation)

We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP Plant Maintenance Consultant to join a high-impact life sciences transformation program in Japan. This role focuses on asset management, maintenance operations, and operational readiness, requiring a professional who can effectively bridge business and IT teams.

Role Overview

As a key liaison between business stakeholders and SAP functional teams, you will lead initiatives within SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) while ensuring strong integration with Production Planning (PP) and Warehouse Management (WM). You will play a critical role in driving process excellence, ensuring compliance in regulated environments, and aligning global standards with local Japanese operations.

Key Responsibilities

You will work closely with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to understand business needs and translate them into effective SAP solutions. Your responsibilities will include leading fit-gap analyses, facilitating workshops, and supporting system implementation and testing activities. You will ensure SAP PM processes meet regulatory and operational requirements while contributing to training, change management, and cross-functional collaboration across the program.

Required Experience & Skills

You bring at least 8 years of hands-on SAP experience, with deep expertise in SAP PM and strong knowledge of WM and PP modules, along with integration points across MM, FI, CO, and EHS. You have successfully delivered at least two full-cycle SAP PM implementations and possess advanced configuration expertise in maintenance processes such as work orders, notifications, task lists, and maintenance planning.

You have a strong understanding of asset lifecycle management, maintenance operations, and performance optimization, particularly within regulated industries such as life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare. Familiarity with GxP compliance and validation requirements is essential.

Strong communication skills are critical, as you will translate complex SAP concepts into clear business language. You are adaptable in fast-paced environments and effective in engaging diverse stakeholders. Fluency in Japanese and English is required, along with a willingness to travel when needed.
