SAP Datasphere Data Engineer - Snowflake-

Join a newly established data product team and become the SAP Datasphere expert driving a shift-left data modeling strategy. You will own SAP Datasphere, ensuring business semantics, harmonization, and governance are handled as close to the SAP source as possible, while enabling scalable integration with Snowflake where it adds value.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and own SAP Datasphere models, views, and business semantics.
• Build and optimize SAP-to-Snowflake extraction and replication flows (Replication Flows, CDC, Premium Outbound).
• Advise on data architecture decisions: what remains in SAP Datasphere and what moves to Snowflake.
• Act as the SAP subject matter expert on data models, performance, governance, compliance, and licensing.
• Troubleshoot integration, data quality, and performance issues.
• Define standards, document best practices, and mentor team members.

Requirements

• 5+ years of SAP data engineering/development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP Datasphere (modeling, Data Builder, replication flows, integrations).
• Deep knowledge of SAP source systems (S/4HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA) and extraction technologies (CDS, ODP, CDC).
• Experience integrating SAP data with cloud data warehouses, preferably Snowflake.
• Strong understanding of SAP governance, security, and licensing considerations.
• Agile product mindset and ability to work autonomously.

Nice to Have

• SAP BTP and Business Data Cloud (BDC) experience.
• Knowledge of Snowflake and dbt.
• ABAP/CDS development experience.

• Datasphere modeling standards established and documented.
• Reliable SAP-to-Snowflake replication flows operational.
• Extraction patterns documented and team enabled on SAP capabilities and constraints.
