SAP Data Migration Coordinator - Hyderabad

Global Enterprise Partners is looking for an SAP Data Migration Coordinator based in Hyderabad, India to join my client in their global S/4Hana roll out. This is a hybrid role and requires 2-3 days onsite in Hyderabad office.

Position Title: Data Coordinator (SAP S/4HANA Data Migration)
Location: Hyderabad, India

Position Purpose

The Data Migration Coordinator plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between the technical IT data migration teams and the Business Areas. Acting under the direct supervision of the BA Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating, tracking, and validating all master and transactional data objects required for the SAP S/4HANA deployment.

Your mission is to ensure that business data is extracted, cleansed, mapped, enriched, and validated by the Data Owners according to the project timelines and business quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Data Coordination & Sourcing

• Act as the primary point of contact for data migration topics within the Business Areas (BAs).
• Work closely with Business Process Experts (BPEs) and Data Owners (SKUs/KUs) to identify the legacy data sources.
• Coordinate the extraction of legacy data (e.g., Customers, Vendors, Material Master, Bill of Materials, Open Orders) as per the project plan for the different data Test Cycles (TCs).

2. Data Cleansing & Enrichment

• Drive data cleansing campaigns within the BAs to eliminate duplicates, obsolete data, and formatting errors before migration.
• Guide business users through the data enrichment process, ensuring all mandatory SAP S/4HANA fields are populated correctly.

3. Mapping & Transformation Validation

• Assist the BAs in defining and documenting business data transformation rules and cross-reference mapping (e.g., mapping legacy codes to new SAP S/4HANA structures).
• Ensure that the data aligns with the Core Model and local BA requirements.

4. Data Validation & TC Runs

• Coordinate the Business Data Validation cycles (Test Cycles) and secure formal sign-offs from BA Data Owners.
• Facilitate UAT and End-to-End Testing from a data perspective, ensuring that loaded data behaves correctly in the new S/4HANA environment.
• Log, track, and coordinate the resolution of data defects identified during test cycles.

5. Reporting & Progress Tracking

• Maintain data migration dashboards, tracking readiness KPIs (Extraction, Cleansing, Mapping, Loading) for the BA.
• Escalate data-related risks, bottlenecks, and resource constraints to the BA Project Manager and the Data Factory Lead.

Profile & Qualifications

Experience & Education

• Sufficient experience with data migration activities in legacy ERP systems and strong knowledge of business processes.
• Experience in an SAP implementation or SAP migration project (ECC to S/4HANA or Greenfield) is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Advanced Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Power Query, Pivot Tables) is mandatory.
• Familiarity with SAP data concepts (Master Data vs. Transactional Data) and SAP data structures.

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical data requirements into clear business language.
• Rigorous and organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage tight deadlines across multiple data objects.
• Strong team player capable of driving action across busy business operational teams without direct hierarchical authority.

Languages

• A good level of English (written and spoken) is required.
