Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support a global SAP-focused data initiative within a growing Data & AI function. The consultant will work as part of an international team responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing modern cloud-based data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and AI-driven use cases across the business.

This role requires strong expertise in Snowflake and/or Databricks, Python, AWS, dbt, SQL, and Git, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and cloud-native technologies.
• Build and support ETL/ELT processes for ingesting, transforming and integrating data into enterprise data platforms.
• Develop and optimize data models using dbt and modern data engineering best practices.
• Support Snowflake and/or Databricks environments, ensuring performance, scalability and reliability.
• Create and maintain high-quality, analytics-ready datasets for reporting, advanced analytics and AI initiatives.
• Optimize SQL queries, data transformations and platform performance.
• Implement CI/CD processes and version control practices using Git.
• Ensure data quality, governance, monitoring and documentation standards are applied across data solutions.
• Troubleshoot and improve existing data pipelines, workflows and integrations.
• Collaborate closely with data architects, analysts, product owners and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data products.
• Support global SAP-related data initiatives and enterprise data platform activities.

Required Experience

• 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake and/or Databricks.
• Advanced Python development experience for data processing, automation and pipeline development.
• Strong SQL skills including complex querying, optimization and performance tuning.
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Hands-on AWS experience, including services such as S3, Lambda, Glue and EC2.
• Experience using dbt for data transformation and modelling.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD processes.
• Experience working within cloud-based data platforms and modern data architectures.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with international teams and stakeholders.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Nice-to-Have Experience

• Experience supporting SAP-related data domains or integrations.
• Experience with AI, machine learning or advanced analytics data platforms.
• Experience working within global enterprise environments.
• Exposure to data governance and data quality frameworks.
• Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones.
• Healthcare, life sciences or consumer products industry experience.

Working Requirements

• Must be based in Bogotá, Colombia.
• Hybrid working model with two to three days per week onsite.
• Availability to support early morning meetings with global stakeholders and teams.
• Comfortable working in a highly collaborative international environment.

• Contract Length: Until 31 December 2026 with possible extensions
• Workload: Full-time (40 hours per week)
