Forward Deployed Engineer - 5+ months - remote - freelance

We're hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to help one of our clients unlock value through AI. This role is perfect for someone with a strong business background and hands-on experience with Python, GenAI, AI Agents, RAG, and Azure.

This is a unique opportunity for a commercially minded technologist who combines deep business expertise with hands-on AI and engineering capability.

The Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work directly with business and executive stakeholders to understand their challenges, define solutions, and deliver AI-driven outcomes.

This is not a traditional engineering role. You will operate at the intersection of business transformation, technology, and innovation, leading engagements from discovery through to deployment while translating strategic objectives into practical solutions.

Working in fast-paced environments, you'll design, build, and deploy AI-first solutions including LLM applications, intelligent automation, AI agents, and data-driven decision-making tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to define problems and desired outcomes.
• Design and deliver AI-powered solutions that create measurable business value.
• Lead projects from discovery through implementation and adoption.
• Build rapid prototypes, iterate with users, and scale successful solutions.
• Translate complex business requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior executives.
• Develop repeatable frameworks and approaches that can be leveraged across multiple clients and industries.

About You

You will have:

• Deep expertise in Finance, Banking, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Commodities, or a similar domain.
• A proven track record leading business transformation initiatives and driving adoption.
• Experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders and executive teams.
• Strong software engineering skills, with Python as a core language.
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI technologies, LLMs, RAG architectures, and AI agents.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure preferred), data engineering, APIs, and enterprise systems.
• A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for solving complex problems.
