Data Engineer - EU Remote - 6 Months

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join an innovative project focused on building a scalable anomaly detection solution for industrial data. You'll play a key role in developing robust data pipelines and enabling high-quality machine learning workflows that improve failure detection accuracy and reduce false positives across multiple sites.

This is a hands-on engineering role with strong exposure to data platforms, streaming pipelines, and ML lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement streaming and batch data pipelines for:

  • Data ingestion and integration
  • Data quality management and quality gating
  • Transformations and auditing

• Perform:

  • Feature engineering
  • Data exploration and analysis

• Collaborate closely with business and operations teams to:

  • Align on data requirements
  • Request, standardize and process waveform/sensor data

• Build and maintain:

  • A scalable gold data layer
  • KPI reporting and PoC evaluation frameworks

• Establish engineering best practices, including:

  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Version control (Git)
  • Unit and integration testing
  • Clear and structured documentation

Core Requirements

• Strong experience with:
  • Azure + Databricks platform
  • MLflow
• Solid background in building data pipelines (batch & streaming)
• Strong engineering mindset with experience in data and ML workflows

Nice to Have

• Experience with Snowflake
• Exposure to data science / ML engineering, including:
  • Anomaly detection (especially real-time/streaming)
  • Databricks-based ML workflows
  • MLflow model lifecycle management
  • Model versioning, tuning, and testing
  • Model serving endpoints
  • Statistical normalization techniques (e.g., z-score)
  • Signal processing (e.g., FFT transformation)
