Freelance AI Strategy & Transformation Lead / AI Delivery Lead | Pharma | Europe / Remote

Global Enterprise Partners is supporting a global pharmaceutical client in establishing an enterprise-wide AI capability. We are looking for an experienced AI Strategy & Transformation Lead / AI Delivery Lead to define, structure, and drive a portfolio of AI initiatives across commercial and R&D domains.

This is a high-impact role focused on translating AI strategy into executable programs, shaping an AI operating model, and driving delivery of business-critical use cases. The role sits at the intersection of business and technology, with strong executive visibility and sponsorship.

Requirements

Must-Have

• 10-15+ years of experience in AI, data, digital, or technology transformation roles
• Proven experience as AI Strategy Lead, AI Transformation Lead, or Program Lead in complex organisations
• Strong track record of defining and implementing AI strategy, roadmaps, and operating models (e.g. AI Office / CoE)
• Experience delivering multiple AI/data use cases in parallel (portfolio/program management)
• Strong experience translating AI into business value (e.g. commercial optimisation, customer engagement, forecasting, process automation)
• Proven ability to bridge business and technology stakeholders at senior/executive level
• Experience working with cross-functional teams (IT, data, commercial, external vendors)
• Strong understanding of data platforms, AI/ML lifecycle, and enterprise architectures
• Experience managing external partners, vendors, and system integrators
• Strong governance and delivery experience across budget, prioritisation, and value tracking
• Excellent communication skills with experience supporting board-level discussions and decision-making
• Fluent in English

Nice-to-Have

• Experience in pharma, life sciences, or other regulated industries
• Exposure to commercial pharma use cases (CRM, omnichannel, patient engagement, adherence programs)
• Familiarity with Veeva ecosystem or CRM-driven AI use cases
• Experience working with outsourced or externalised delivery models (e.g. clinical or R&D partners)
• Knowledge of AI governance, ethics, and compliance frameworks
• Experience aligning AI strategy with ERP or large transformation programs (e.g. S/4HANA)

• Location: Europe preferred / remote possible
• Workload: Full-time
• Duration: Initial 12 months (extension likely)
